The Bridging the Gap project gave children with learning disabilities the chance to take part in art activities to explore and celebrate their similarities and differences with their nondisabled peers.
Children with profound and multiple learning disabilities were supported to take part in the art activities through a variety of different means for example, children who had no movement in their arms had painted balls attached to a string and then fixed to their wheel chair. When they moved across the canvas they created a rainbow of different colours.
The children produced 3 canvases, a wall hanging and an accompanying short film charting the work of the project. The children's artwork was displayed in the Public, West Bromwich.
